This year’s annual GENUP* covers the following topics:
- Environmental Material Facts
- NCREC FAQs
- Permits
- Education Updates
- Law and Rules Update
*Any licensee who has BIC eligible license status or an active BIC should take the BICUP course and not the GENUP course.
The elective course, The Contract Maze:
- A real estate CE elective course designed to navigate the intricate details and elusive question of “When does an offer become a contract?” The primary objective of this course is to clearly and definitively address, among other things, each of these issues as they relate to today’s fast paced world of business. This is a course that attempts to navigate the maze of contract law by dissecting its intricacies and relating it to real estate contracts and the everyday practice of real estate.
Important guidelines regarding CE:
Licensees must complete eight (8) hours per year of continuing education (CE) in order to renew your license on active status. Four (4) of the required CE credit hours must be obtained by completing the Mandatory Update course. The Mandatory Update (GENUP) course or the BIC Annual Review (BICAR, BIC status only) can be taken in a classroom or live online with an instructor. The Update course is not offered online as a self-paced course.
The remaining four (4) CE credit hours may be obtained by taking an elective course in the classroom or online, including self-paced courses. Please see our schedule at www.goschool.biz/classes for a complete list of online and in-person elective courses (NCREC approved) that will fulfill this remaining 4 hour CE requirement.
Students may roll over a maximum of 4 elective credit hours to the following year.
Do NOT take the same CE elective course two years in a row. Credit will not be provided.
Licensees must attend at least 90% of a CE course and comply with student participating standards in order to receive credit for the course.
Upon completing the class, you will receive a Certificate of Completion for your records. Go School will report the course completion to the NCREC within 7 days. You do not need to take any action to report the completion to the NCREC.
There are no refunds issued for CE courses. Students may move enrollment to a future date within the same year as long as this is done prior to the start date of their original enrollment.
If enrolling in an online self-paced elective credit course, you must complete the course within 30-days of enrollment. Extensions are not an option.
